The most asked question: how much does a Wedding in Italy cost?

You’ve likely seen them all over social media: breathtaking ceremonies overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany, spectacular coastal views along the Amalfi Coast, or grand villas with serene lakeside settings at Lake Como. They look like a dream… but now you’re wondering: how much do they actually cost? Let’s break it down.

Planning a destination wedding in Italy is a journey of choices: number of guests, region, venue, creative direction, and personal touches. Each wedding is entirely bespoke, tailored to the couple. Think of it as a puzzle: every piece matters, and without the right fit, the picture isn’t complete. The right planner, combined with a clear understanding of your priorities, ensures that puzzle comes together perfectly.

What Luxury Really Means

Luxury isn’t about excess, it’s about curation.

It’s a deeply personal experience, designed thoughtfully in every detail: the setting, the flow of the day, the food, the music, and the atmosphere that your guests feel rather than just see. Every choice reshapes the overall investment, from north to south, a historic villa or countryside estate, to floral artistry, culinary direction, and creative partners.

Based on our experience, here is a realistic overview of starting costs for a luxury wedding in Italy with approximately 100 guests, of the 2026 season.

Location

From €10,000 to €60,000+ per day

The venue and region set the scene. The villa overlooking the sea, a Borgo with views of the Tuscan hills, manicured or unmanicured, a Baroque Palazzo, grand villas by the northern lakes. Prices vary depending on exclusivity, location, length of stay, and whether accommodations or full buyouts are included.

Large private estates can accommodate your entire party, so consider that this might lower the costs if your guests are willing to split their stay with you. Some offer accommodation from 15 guests to even 100. One thing to also consider is that having your guests stay in one place might reduce or eliminate the cost of transportation for the wedding day.

Food & Beverage / Catering services

From €240+ per guest

Food is at the heart of the Italian wedding experience. Expect refined 3-course menus, exceptional ingredients, and wines sourced from renowned local producers. Costs vary based on menu composition, ingredient selection, and whether catering is managed by a hotel or an external culinary team. Depending on the venue and catering, some might include the wine pairing within the quote, while in some instances, if the venue is a winery or wine producer, they might require the wine to be bought directly from them.

External caterers allow full customization of table settings and service style, while hotels typically offer in-house options, with rentals required for bespoke designs.

Open bar pricing ranges from per-drink charges to curated hourly packages, and some extra costs for preferred bottles. Usually a 3 hour open bar will cost you around 4,000 euros. Some bar options include the deluxe and platinum option, which allows you to choose ahead of time the type of alcohol you will want for the wedding day, alongside a different cost per package.

Flower Design

From €12,000 – €50,000+

Floral design creates atmosphere. A starting budget of €12,000 allows for a cohesive floral and décor concept, influenced by guest count, table layouts, seasonality, logistics, and level of customization. Highly bespoke installations and intricate styling naturally elevate the investment. Costs go up depending on your chosen floral designer, as their craft has an extra cost.

Audio & Lighting

From €15,000+

Lighting is not an add-on, it’s architecture, often overlooked but essential. Production costs depend on venue complexity, number of event spaces, staging, sound, dance floors, and performance requirements. Audio and light productions start around €15,000, increasing with creative ambition. Consider discussing what the venue already offers, especially if you’re planning a daytime or lunch wedding, which can reduce costs.

Photography & Videography

From €9,000 – €45,000+

Italy’s top photographers and filmmakers are visual storytellers, capturing emotion with elegance and cinematic depth. Multi-day celebrations reflect reputation, creative approach, and team size. Prioritize your preferred style first, then select the photographer or videographer who best aligns with your vision and budget.

Pro-tip: We are always happy to collaborate with international photographers although we highly suggest local vendors, not only for logistic coordination as flight cancelations and travel time is a real issue but always since we can’t recommend vendors we haven’t worked with before.
